Gallons of ink, hours of air time and gigabytes of data on the internet are being invested to convince the voting public that the Obama Administration’s H.H.S. Mandate is about a woman’s right to choose and her access to needed medical care. They are, by this action, classifying pregnancy as an illness similar we are suppose to believe to Ovarian Cancer. This is sheer nonsense, but it also a smoke screen.
The H.H.S mandate is just one of the series of assaults this President has launched against every citizen’s Constitutional Rights. The First Amendment reads: Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.
The H.H.S mandate attacks the first part of the first amendment. The current administration is also busy attacking our Freedom of Speech by trying to shut down news commentators, news channels and other forms of communications that openly criticize the administrations policies. It is also attacking the right to Freedom of Assembly by its current attack against the law abiding and peaceful Tea Parties across the nation by sending the I.R.S after them with odious demands for questionnaires to be answered and audits of their financial records.. No such action has been carried out against the Occupy Wall Street protesters, which the administration lauds, who have trashed cities and committed felonies. The right of the people to petition the government to redress their grievances is thwarted when Executive orders are used to setup National policy without any recourse to stopping these policies.
A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.
The Obama administration is attacking the Second Amendment on several fronts, one being a United Nations Treaty it is seeking to sign that would eliminate all individual gun rights.
The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no Warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by Oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized.
The right is regularly violated by the Transportation Security Administration and its T.S.A. officers who now are not only at airports but are patrolling the highways in some states.
No person shall be held to answer for a capital, or otherwise infamous crime, unless on a presentment or indictment of a Grand Jury, except in cases arising in the land or naval forces, or in the Militia, when in actual service in time of War or public danger; nor shall any person be subject for the same offence to be twice put in jeopardy of life or limb; nor shall be compelled in any criminal case to be a witness against himself, nor be deprived of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law; nor shall private property be taken for public use, without just compensation
In all criminal prosecutions, the accused shall enjoy the right to a speedy and public trial, by an impartial jury of the State and district wherein the crime shall have been committed, which district shall have been previously ascertained by law, and to be informed of the nature and cause of the accusation; to be confronted with the witnesses against him; to have compulsory process for obtaining witnesses in his favor, and to have the Assistance of Counsel for his defense.
These rights are in jeopardy as the administration seeks the authority to arrest and hold indefinitely any person they consider a terrorist or who they say are involved in terrorist activity. Since Homeland Security Director Janet Napolitano has identified legal gun owners, Pro-life advocates and returning war veterans as terrorists, many citizens are at risk. The current administration has also issued Execution orders for American citizens who they identify as terrorists. Even if the evidence is clear and convincing, the Constitution DEMANDS the right to a trial. The U.S. Government is now involved in the assassination of its own citizens.
The enumeration in the Constitution, of certain rights, shall not be construed to deny or disparage others retained by the people.
The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people.
These rights are under constant attack as the Executive Branch strives to increase it Power and Control over the States and their citizens.
The end result is obvious. If this administration, and future ones, are not stopped, we will lose are freedoms and become subjects of a Dictator.
